I don't want NO DIAMOND RING...can I have a PAIR of RUNNERS instead???

This year I've decided to get myself into the Global Corporate Challenge again...the last time I joined this was two years ago and it was an exciting experience with me having to cycle and swim after many many years of not doing so...
Well you must be wondering what in the world is this woman talking about, well let me briefly explain to you what this Global Corporate Challenge is all about....base on Wiki..:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Corporate_Challenge

The Global Corporate Challenge is a workplace health and wellbeing program aimed at changing the behaviour and improving the health of employees around the world.[1] The event promotes 10,000 steps per day [2] as a way to tackle the growing epidemic of an obese and overweight global workforce and reduce the alarming increase in the accompanying Type II diabetes, cardio vascular disease and cancer. The Global Corporate Challenge event is often referred to simply as GCC (a registered trademark of The Global Corporate Challenge). With participants in over 100 countries, the GCC mantra is to ‘Get the World Moving’.

So basically it's aim is to GET THE WORLD MOVING by encouraging people to walk 10,000 steps a day..AWESOME right!!! And for us to know how many step counts we are doing during the day...we are given 2 PEDOMETERS AKA GCC PULSE...so if one fails, at least we still have another one as back up.
Now back to my title and how that title relates to this GCC....
So you see, I've been aiming for a new pair of sports shoes since last year. The one I have now is coming 4 years old and I've used it for hiking, running, netball and whatever exercise I find myself doing...haha. I keep telling myself I want a new pair of runners but I kept justifying that I don't have any reason to get a new one since my old pair is still in one piece.
My ever so loyal ASICS :)

BUT! Now that the GCC is coming, my excuse for the new Pair of shoes that I want is super valid...haha..and my excuse is that the new one is way lighter that the one I have now...which means I can walk more in them and run further!!! hahaha...my excuse is valid right???

Super valid!!! (That's what I keep telling myself over and over again :P)

So, New SHOES!!! I'm coming!!! You'll be MINE SOON!!!!

I LOVE THE COLOUR TOO!!!

P/S. the Awesome light weight runners that I'm talking about is no other that the beautiful Woman's Puma Faas 300 V2....I LOVE IT!!!

Oh yah....and before I end....here's something I got from the GCC website on how we can walk more everyday just to stay healthy... and just for the fun of it, go get yourself a PEDOMETER!!! And make sure you take 10,000 steps a day..not because I said so...(haha...prasan me, as if people listen to what i say...hahaha...) but because YOU WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW... sounds good right? it sure does to me!!! I want to grow old with my kids and still be able to keep up with them when I reach 60 years old. I want to be one of those mom's who joins their kids for runs and be able to finish it the same my kids does or maybe before them...muahahahaha.... ok ok...that sounded evil...I better stop now..you get the drift...haha.. Anyway, check out the below and maybe do as it says.... you have nothing to lose but to be healthy... it's a win-win for all..

That's it from me!!! Over and out!!!

SUPER FIT MOMMY PART 2...not yet lah but getting there ;)

So on the 18th March (2 posts ago), I put up my weight and the various details that I was tracking so I could prove to you that at my age I can still try to be fitter, stronger and healthier than those 10 years younger than me :P.

So here's the comparison...

18th March Stats:

Weight                      : 47kg
Height                       : 150cm
BMI                          : 20.8
Whole Body Fat (%) : 26.4
Skeletal Muscle (%)  : 23.2
Body Fat (%)            : 33.9
Visceral Fat (%)        : 4
Real Age                   : 35yo
Body Age                 : 36yo
Waist                        : 29 inch
Hips                          : 35.5 inch

As of today - 3rd April Stats:

Weight                      : 45.7kg
Height                       : 150cm (Can't do much about the height..maybe I should try Yoga and stretch more?)
BMI                          : 20.3
Whole Body Fat (%) : 24.3
Skeletal Muscle (%)  : 24.3 (Increase by 1%!!! AWESOME!!!!)
Body Fat (%)            : 30.4
Visceral Fat (%)        : 3
Real Age                   : 35yo
Body Age                 : 34yo (I'm one year younger!!!! WOOHOOO!!!)
Waist                        : 29 inch
Hips                          : 34.5 inch

So you see!!! It's possible leh!!! But you really need to put effort to do something, even if you think you don't have the time to do so. I'm not a super fit mommy yet but I'm getting there :D

I have 3 kids...so I can't exercise everyday....I find ways to do some kind of workout just for the sake of keeping myself healthy. Let me give you an example:

(1) I have evening walks/cycle time with the kids and hubby - this is WONDERFUL BONDING time

I walk this little sweetheart of mine, up and down our housing area, and I do this fast not slow... this helps me burn more calories than walking at a snails pace and at the same time, my boy get to experience more wind in his face...hahaha... when i do this, my aim is to try and outwalk my kids on their bicycles... :P. Which usually isn't possible... haha.. It's pretty much a win-win situation cause I get to do some sort of workout (not much lah but better than sitting down and watching tv, right?) and my kids are having fun!!!
Sometimes the hubby joins the fun by riding my daughter's bike with my second boy in the basket...good workout for the hubby as well... ;).

(2) I walk up and down the stairs to my office which is on the 3rd floor instead of using the lift....sometimes you just need to make a change and make it that change into a habit. This habit helps, though you may say not much, but like I said, better than nothing right? Every small change you make in your daily life which avoids being lazy, is always good. If you accumulate it together, it will work out to a bigger amount of calories burned...true? So, moral of the story....don't be lazy yah....

(3) While you are watching TV you could do Squats and Push-ups and Sit-ups.....the kids will most probably join you too and that is good for them...good to start kids young with living a healthy lifestyle..

(4) Sometimes, when the kids drive me up the wall....I go for a quick jog around my housing area...all it takes is 25 minutes of my time and I'm back at home with the kids again. That way I get to de-stress and at the same time take as short a time away from the kids.

And when you have the time...do what you can to utilize that time for exercise..time is precious...haha...well in my case it is...I don't even have time to blow my hair in the morning...I take 3 minutes in the shower...5 minutes if it includes brushing my teeth and washing my face. Make up consist of a quick touch up on my eyebrows, a quick pad of powder on my face and some eye liners to my eyes...that would take another 3 minutes... then its ZOOM out into the car...oh yah...I do put clothes on as well...hahaha...and that is just pulling out a pants and a top from my cupboard....see no time...sad or not...

Hence, time is very the precious... :P. Today I shall head to the park to run round and round and round...oh no!!! I forgot my MP3!!! It's at home!!! OH NO!!! Sigh...this means I'll be heading home to run around my housing area....this will give the dogs around my area some excitement for today...they will decide whether they would want to chase me or not...most of the time their decision is to chase!!! Scary wei!!! But thank goodness I'm not afraid of them, so I just stop and look at them and they back off....huhu...

Wah...I'm actually getting very long winded here....how did this happen...haha... to end this, let me show you a picture of me and my friend after hiking last monday....still can smile some more...haha...

Ohhh...and before I end...I would like to say KUDOS to a friend of mine (facebook picture below which I stole from her facebook page...hehehe..sorry dear..jangan marah ye..I bangga with your determination bah...hehe) who actually made the effort and time for exercise most mornings after she sends her kids to school...see nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it!!! No such thing as "I cannot lah" or "No time lah" or whatever "-lahs" you may have... just DO IT!

And say to yourself:

And that's it from me!!! Over and out!!!

SUPER MOM??? Trying to be...hahaha - EXERCISE & playtime with my KIDS...whom I love to bits!!!

Yesterday was a very productive day. I had an awesome workout at Canada Hill at my pace...which was even more awesome cause I almost killed myself in the process of trying to beat my personal time...hahaha... like I said before... sometimes I still think I'm 20yo. Today however, my muscles are aching!!! But that just proves that I had an awesome workout yesterday!!! WOOHOOO!!!!

So this is what happen...

4.30pm - Left Office
4.40pm - Got home to change
4.50pm - Pick Baby Josiah from his Nursery
4.55pm - Send him Home to my MIL and Mom (Thank goodness for them)
4.56pm - Left Home to head to Canada Hill
5.06pm - Reached Canada Hill and Waited for my colleague
5.10pm - Went in myself cause my colleague said he will be late..
5.15pm - Started my Hike at Hill No.2
5.45pm - Came out at Hill No.6 breathless cause I was trying to catch up with an Apek infront of me.     Found out that he was an impossible target...hahaha....
5.55pm - Left Canada Hill to pick up my Baby number 2, Mr. Jairus
6.05pm - Reached the Babysitters house, only to find it in a mess with Chairs being moved to the front of the door cause Mr.Jairus was trying to build a house....
6.07pm - Left the Babysitters house with Mr.Jairus in the car telling me he wanted to play ball
6.20pm - Reached home and moved the other car out of the car porch area so Mr.Jairus could kick the ball around. Carried little Mr. Josiah while kicking ball with Mr.Jairus cause Mr.Josiah was screaming his head off in the walker cause he wanted to be carried. Hubby came out to kick the ball around too...I thought that was superb cause this made it a family bonding time. Mr.Josiah had a good time laughing while I kicked the ball cause he thought it was super hilarious but after about 5 minutes into it, he didn't find it funny anymore.
6.30pm - Miss Seraphina decided to join us after she came out from the shower. So all five of us were outside in our little car porch area chasing the ball around. AWESOME RIGHT??? I thought it was.
6.45pm - It was getting dark...so told Mr.Jairus that the birds are heading home and to say Goodbye and Goodnight...and that is exactly what he did....then we all went inside.
6.47pm - I went to have a shower cause I finally realised that I stink!!! SO BAD!!!
6.55pm - Food set out for everyone to eat while I put the little Mr.Josiah to sleep.
7.15pm - My turn to eat!!! Mr.Jairus and Miss Seraphina was still eating...you know how kids are...they take forever to eat....
7.30pm - Headed over to my mom's side of the house cause Mr.Jairus wanted to play Drums on the chair (drum sticks were chopsticks...we had to be creative here..hahaha)...didn't want him to wake the baby up. After awhile, the hubby was with the chopsticks hitting the chair and so was my daugther who was also singing at the same time. Song for the night was the Cup Song from Pitch Perfect. Mr.Jairus was with the guitar...

7.50pm - Mr.Josiah decided he should wake up so he doesn't miss the fun...
8.00pm - Chased everyone into the bedroom to sleep.
8.30pm - Miss Seraphine was knocked out.
9.00pm - The Boys were knocked out and after that I was knocked out....

The end...it was definitely a super productive day yesterday....and I loved it!!!

By the way, do you know that it is always good to start teaching your kids to live a healthy lifestyle... this is how it can be done.... INTRODUCING to you my DARLING SISTER with Miss Seraphina & Mr.Jairus doing the push ups!!! TA-DA!!! haha...looks more like a mermaid... hahaha

And that's it from me!!! Thanks for reading!!! Psst...don't forget to exercise today yah!!! Skipping also can...walk with the kids outside also can...anything also can...as long as you exercise...ok? Alrighty! Over and out!!!

I want to be a SUPER FIT MOMMY!!! Possible??? Hell yah!!!

Yup I know, I've been missing from the blog world like forever...and yes I know I keep saying I'm back and will start writing again but only to disappear for months...I openly admit that.... and that is why this time I'm not going to say anything else on blogging consistently from now on but bare with me and stay tune... :P

I'm now a mom of 3 kids....an 8 year old daughter, a 2.5 year old boy and an 8 months old baby boy. Since I've only delivered 8 months ago... I've been struggling with trying to gain back whatever stamina I can and be like what I use to be 10 years ago.... hahaha... you must be thinking I'm crazy right? And you are indeed right! I know I'm half way to being 40 years old...but that is not going to deter me from being fitter and stronger than when I was in my 20s. :P

Life is short and being older doesn't me that we let go and let our body catch up with our age. We can always be OLD-er but still look and feel YOUNG-er....agree??? I'm positive I can be fitter, stronger and healthier than girls 10 years younger than me...haha...I'm positive and you should be too!!! Positive thinking is always good...:P But if you don't believe it is possible, let me just prove it to you.

So, this is what I'm going to do. First look at my stats below:

Weight                           : 47kg
Height                            : 150cm (I can't do much about my height unfortunately...hahaha)
BMI                               : 20.8
Whole Body Fat (%)     : 26.4
Skeletal Muscle (%)     : 23.2
Body Fat (%)                 : 33.9
Visceral Fat (%)            : 4
Real Age                        : 35yo
Body Age                       : 36yo (I'm freaking 1 year older!!!!)
Waist                              : 29inch
Hips                                : 35.5 inch
Arms (Relaxed/Flexed) : 10/10.5inch

For Definition of the Above:
http://www.lifestyleforhealth.com/index.cfm?id=20d9e127-c46b-4fba-8e8af2da83890002&number-meaning.html

Note that my pre-pregnancy weight was 44kg, hence my aim to reach that target. Please note also that I LOVE TO EAT!!! If you were to ever want to bring me out for a lunch or dinner buffet, I can honestly say that you will not regret it!!! hahaha....

Anyway, looking at my stats above, my aim is to:

DECREASE 'Weight', 'Whole Body Fat', 'Body Fat', 'Visceral Fat', 'Body Age', 'Waist', 'Hips' & 'Arm - Relaxed'
INCREASE 'Skeletal Muscle' & 'Arms - Flexed Variance from Relaxed'

My aim is to do this in 4 weeks!!! If I'm successful (and as a mom of 3 kids), then you will have no excuse whatsoever that you won't be able to do it...RIGHT??? Let's do this together shall we??? All You need is a PAIR of RUNNING SHOES (and maybe an MP3 player or your smartphone will do - for music purposes to keep you entertain while you run or walk) and you are GOOD TO GO!!!

You just need ONE HOUR a DAY to get out there and walk or run or both. if you haven't done it in ages, start WALKING first... but FAST WALK lah.... cause you need to get your heart rate up in order to lose/burn the fat.. I've heard that exercising in the morning burns more fat that doing it in the evening...so if you can't seem to fit exercise into your evening schedule, then by all means do it in the morning after the kids go to school. Base on Malaysian School Time, Your kids should be in school by 7am, so send them earlier like 6.30am, then head to a Park and WALK for ONE HOUR!!! Then go home, bath and head off to work...in a couple of weeks of doing that you will honestly feel so much better than you would previously.

(Headphones - Check!, Running Shoes - Check!, Nice Weather - Check!, Still Breathing - Check!)

So are you in for the Challenge??? You have nothing to lose right. I'm not asking you to starve yourself, I'm just asking you to Exercise More than usual and maybe eat half of what you always eat everyday for 4 weeks. Let's do it!!! Let us MOMS prove to the world that we are SUPER MOMS and nothing can deter us from being HOT & SEXY!!! hahaha.... ok ok I'm overdoing it but You get the DRIFT!!! ;)

On my side...this is what I'm going to do... I'm going to try and stick to the schedule below:

Monday - Hiking
Tuedsday - Run (4 to 5 KM)
Wednesday - Netball
Thursday - Hiking or Run (whichever I feel like during that day :P)
Friday - Rest
Saturday - Run & Walk with Son in Stroller
Sunday -Rest

And everyday add in:
10 push ups, 10 sit ups, 10 squats, 10 Right Leg Forward Lunge & 10 Left Leg Forward Lunge

(Repeat for 4 Weeks - )

And Lets See Results!!! Woohoo!!! Will update progress weekly :)

P/S. Don't procrastinate and say you will start tomorrow, JUST START TODAY!!! ;)

That's it from me today!!!

Over and out!!!

I've been GONE for TWO YEARS!!! Another BABY & CHARM BRACELETS!!! :)

I can't believe I've been out of this blogging scene for about 2 years!!! Having a second child sure takes up a lot of time that I couldn't even blog...

But I'm back!!! Hahaha...and a quick update. My 2nd Child is now coming 2 years old....next week Thursday to be exact ;).

And I now have a 3rd Child, who was born 2 weeks ago. His name is Josiah and he is the final addition to the family....yes final...that's what I say lah....but who knows what God has plan for me...I sure do hope it is just 3...hahaha....This 3rd child was a surprise and despite being in shock for about 3 days when I found out, He is still our little blessing. If you recall my story of how hard it is for me to get pregnant....it seems that after the fixing of my tube by Dr.Mattu, I am now very productive...hahaha..

Besides that, I'm now doing Charm Bracelets...you can actually check out my site on facebook... Jacqie's Charm Bracelet. Almost 37 Weeks of being Pregnant...

At this stage:

  • I can't sleep on one side for two long, my ass gets cramped on the right if I sleep on the right for too long, then when I flip to my left (which is a pretty tough task) and sleep too long on my left, ass gets cramp on the left. And when I finally wake up in the morning after tossing and turning to the right and to the left, both sides of my ass hurts from the cramps throughout the night. It only goes away by noon.....hahaha......and when I walk into my office, I try to pretend as if nothing hurts.....:P
  • Surprisingly my feet has yet to swell and neither has any other part of my body from water retention.....I guess when that happens, it probably means I'm so much closer to labor!!! Well, hopefully that doesn't happen anytime soon.....since I'm planning for a C-section.... :D
  • I keep craving for sweet stuff....and i drink lots of ribena these days....hopefully my baby doesn't come out purple...hahaha...like barney :P
  • I can't sit down properly cause no matter how I sit, its just super uncomfortable....
  • I can't lie down flat cause I can't breathe if I do so.
  • I walk at such a slow pace these days, that it's just sad!!! And after I finish walking up the steps, I'm seriously breathless.....that I'm not use too.....I don't recall being that way when I was carrying Sera...I guess age is catching up!!!
I could go on and on and on....but you get the drift.....the only consolation to everything that I'm going through now is that I only have to tolerate this for another 3 more weeks!!! WOOHOO!!!!

And at the end of it all, when my little miracle baby comes out......IT WILL BE ALL WORTH IT!!!

3 more weeks!!!! That's all 3 more weeks!!!

That's it from me....GOODNIGHT!!!

P/S. If you never see a tummy move with a baby inside, check out my previous post....I videoed my tummy....very cool I must say!!! Something I can show my baby when he grows up ;)

To Vote or Not to Vote....that is the QUESTION....

So I have been contemplating this pass week on whether I should vote or not. Haha...I know as a Sarawakian, it's my duties to do so....but have you seen how aggresive it is this year??? It makes me so tempted to just stay away from my duties to do so....

All I hear is people saying bad things about one party or the other...if you check out miricommunity.net, people are getting aggressive!!! I mean seriously, just because one person say something about another party that you don't like, you don't have to push your opinion on them as well. I mean everybody has a right to their own opinion, so lets no push it till we start getting to aggressive. I know everybody means well, but I feel this is getting out of hand and Miri people are losing their "BEING NICE" ways. Come on Mirians....lets try to be civilised...can we???

I'm sure in everybody's minds, everybody has basically decided who they intend to vote for. I know for me, I have...but I ain't gonna tell no one...cause if I do, someone will probably try to enforce their opinions on me....which I really don't like and I think a lot of people don't either. And I'm guessing you would feel the same way.

I know there are a lot of questions out there, like, should we vote for the young or the old, should we vote for the more experience or the inexperience??? Should we vote for change or should we just remain the same??? If we vote for change will Miri develop faster??? Do we want Miri to develop any faster than it already is??? If we vote for no change, will Miri continue to grow as it is now??? And do we want it too???

Questions, questions and more question.

At the end of it all, we just have to wait and see the outcome at the end of this week.

I wish all parties GOOD LUCK!!! And may the best win!!! (without any aggression and chaos, that is).

That's it from me. Cheers! and have a Blessed Day ahead!!!

Miri, Miri, Miri...hahaha....sorry, I just couldn't help it, I so needed to post this here..:P

Please don't get me wrong...I love Miri to bits and pieces!!! I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world, but this article is just so funny!!!

Miri now a modern riverside city with high-class hotels and malls

Source:
http://www.starproperty.my/PropertyScene/TheStarOnlineHighlightBox/11169/0/0

MIRI: Just like Rome, Miri was not built in a day, but the pace of development of this oil town in Sarawak over the past 20 years has been nothing but phenomenal. Ok, this I have to agree with, Miri has definitely change a lot in the last 20 years, from having cows and goats at the side of the road feeding on grass to having none of that any more :). I even recall one particular calf, which me and my mom use to pass by every morning on my way to school, the calf was always places next to the one-way sign, and hence we name him 'One-Way'. Not sure what happen to him, hopefully he wasn't part of my meal....:( Can't even recall when he disappeared from that sight. Btw, why compare to Rome leh??? Curious.....

The once-sleepy fishing village with soggy black soil that emitted smelly gas is now a modern riverside city dotted with high-class hotels and huge shopping malls. Hmmmm...oklah...we have maybe one high class hotel name Marriot Resort and Spa, but I think that's about it. The others are pretty good but not so high class le. Maybe Imperial Hotel also not bad cause it has service apartments (so definitely good for people travelling with family). Grand Palace also not too bad especially for those people who likes the night life. Overall, better than 20 years ago lah...definitely!!!

Things have certainly changed from 20 years ago when a visit to a tamu or a big shop in a row of five lots was described as shopping. Yeah, I remember getting all excited when my mom said we are going to 'Sin Liang'..haha...best shopping place ever, when I was 8 years old!!! ;)

Multi-storey complexes such as the Bintang Megamall, Boulevard, Merdeka Mall and Imperial Mall, which offer international brands – which some locals cannot even pronounce – has brought a new meaning to shopping in this northern hub of Sarawak. Bintang Megamall with international brands, maybe lah. But how international is international le??? Let me think, we have Levis and.....and.....and....oh yah...maybe cosmetic products got a lot of international brands lah...but clothes wise...hmmm....not much le. Boulevard got international brands meh (besides cosmetics)??? Even G2000 also hilang from boulevard...what international brands got again le??? Can't say much about Merdeka Mall cause I haven't been there just yet. As for Imperial Mall, I think it's pretty much the same as Boulevard only bigger :P. Ahhhh...I just realise, we do have KFC and Mc Donalds as INTERNATIONAL BRANDS!!! ;) Btw, when is the hotel at Bintang Megamall going to be completed???

What you mean we locals cannot pronounce??? I can eh....hahaha...sounds as if we are so uneducated...oh well, life goes on :P Maybe some cannot pronounce lah...so oklah....that can be correct... :P

This has rendered the tamu, including the famous Tamu Muhibbah in the city’s centre, as a place for senior Miri folk and outsiders. I have to admit, I can't even recall the last time I went there :P. But I know for sure my MIL goes there some times....I usually get my groceries from Boulevard....muahahaha.....got air-con bah...I admit I super spoil already!!!

For the older locals and outsiders, especially those from neighbouring Brunei, Tamu Muhibbah is among the few places in Miri where they can get a supply of the precious Bario rice. Mmmmm....Bario rice....good stuff I must say!!! I married a Kelabit...soooo....Bario rice is a must in the house...:P Lucky me!!!

This rice is regarded by the Orang Ulu and natives as the finest from the highlands of Sarawak. It is grown in the cool and unpolluted environment at 1,200m above sea level.According to natives, this rice is eaten only by longhouse chiefs on special occasions. It has long been regarded as one of the finest rice in the world. It is famous for its soft texture, fine elongated grain, mild aroma and splendid taste.

The rice is a laboriously planted and harvested by hand with age-old methods and zero use of pesticides and chemical fertiliser and is thus perfect for health-conscious people.Bario rice is air-flown from Bario and the Ba’kelalan highlands. This coupled with its limited production, results in a kilo of the lowest grade costing RM13.The price is lowest in Miri compared to other parts of Sarawak as it is the closest city to Bario. Wah! Bario rice must be a hit with the person who wrote this, cause he/she sure did write a lot about it. Hahaha....can't blame him/her cause there is nothing much to write about Miri anyway :P Plus the fact that Bario Rice is defintiely one of the bestest (I know there is no such word as bestest but I just like using it, cannot kah??? :P) rice in the world :D

A trader at Tamu Muhibbah was unperturbed by the declining popularity of the market, saying there would always be regular customers as the young would eventually get old.Their turn would come once they grew older and start looking for jungle fruits and vegetables not found in the megamalls. Also, various seafood not sold at the megamalls was available only at places like the tamu, said the trader. Haha....yah, probably when I am the only one left to buy this things in my household, then I probably won't have a choice :P. Usually the jungle fruits (as the call it) can be found all over Miri at the side of the road...even next to Boulevard, so maybe I won't head to Tamu either for the frutis, since it is so accessible elsewhere :D. As for seafood..hmmm...maybe lah terpaksa go there :D. Btw, we only have one Megamall...and its not even Mega enough to be called Megamall...so there is NO MegamallSSSSSS...only A Megamall....just in case people keep thinking we have so many megamalls...just trying to keep things as truthful as possible, so as to make sure that people don't get over-excited to come to Miri, only to get disappointed....true or not???

Businessman Rebi Lampas, who specialises in rice, said business was not bad despite the mushrooming of big shopping complexes. Mushrooming of big shopping complexes??? Hmmm....fair enough since we are having the MYY Mall and the Permy Mall coming up....but not to sure when it will be completed.

“We don’t expect youngsters because they have better places to lepak" Like the malls....

“We have regular customers and a constant stream of outsiders who keep the tamu breathing,” she said. Good to know our Tamu is still alive and kicking :D

Revenue from the petroleum industry, which has been fuelling the development of Miri since the discovery of oil in the town in 1910, also saw the improvement of infrastructure such as roads. True kah??? I thought most of the revenue from our petroleum industry goes back to West Malaysia to develop KL??? Have you seen KL??? Its a never ending of mushrooming malls there compared to Miri!!! If we had more revenue come our way, then maybe we would have a much more improved infrastructure!!!

Super-smooth roads now snake around the city of 320,000 people.Four-lane roads connect the city to almost all outskirts such as Bandar Baru Permyjaya and Senadin. With almost zero potholes, the owners of old cars have no reason to upgrade. Super smooth??? Aiyo!!!! If you want to know what super smooth is, go to Brunei!!! Their roads are fantastic!!! And why??? Cause all the revenue they get from their petroleum industry goes directly to them!!! And four lane roads??? Where??? Am I missing some part of Miri that I have yet to come upon??? Zero potholes??? I got to take some pictures of potholes at Pujut area....later ah....

The large number of Brunei-registered Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Skyline sports cars that zoom past is another indication of how smooth the roads are. Zoom past??? I think the Bruneians drive safer then us cause they are worried their cars would get damage on our roads. I think Kelisa's and Kancil's fly by faster...haha...:P Yes, am being sarcastic here....muahahaha....I once read somewhere where someone ask a Bruneian on how he will know when he has reached Miri (this was when they were on their way down to Miri). The reply was, "when you start feeling as if you are on a boat!!" And it is so TRUE!!! If you use the road to Brunei, it goes up and down and up and down, just like when the waves hits the boat!!! Try driving faster!!! Then it feels like you are on some kind of fun fair ride!!!! hahaha....and it's FREE some more :P Just don't blame if you can road sick and start puking at the side of the road :P

Despite the physical changes the town has seen since the discovery of the Grand Old Lady on Canada Hill 101 years ago, the politeness of the Miri folk remains unscatched. Ahhhh....finally something I TOTALLY AGREE ON!!! I think Miri people are such nice people, including me :P. Of course there are some out there who are not lah....can't expect everybody to be nice can you!!! If everybody was nice...scary leh....it could mean that we were probably brainwashed by some aliens or something like that. But nevertherless, in general, I have to say people in Miri are definitely nice!!! On occassion you will find super super nice people like my mom who smiles at everybody she meets and talks to anyone in general!!! ;)

Being the city that gave birth to Malaysia’s petroleum industry and hometown of international singer Zee Avi, Miri is still the best example of Sarawak’s dynamic, multi-racial and harmonious communities. Ok, agree!!! Btw, I wonder when was the last time Zee Avi came back to Miri??? Even in her 'Mee Kolok Sigek' song, she was talking about Kuching...no Miri mention leh??? Well, can't blame it if the Mee Kolok in Kuching is better :P Zee Avi, if you are reading this, how about writing a song on Miri??? What say you??? :P

Oklah...enough crap from me today!!! Ta for now!!! Over and Out!!!

Gloomy Blog??? No lah!!! :P

If you are wondering why my blog looks so gloomy....its not!!! Hahaha...it's just that since I'm not good at designing blogs or trying to figure out how to use one that can be found when you google..I've decided to just use the template that blogspot already has... :P Can't blame me for not being web designing/web copying (or whatever you call it, hahaha, I hope you get what I'm trying to say :P) literate!!!

It's either I blame it on NO TIME to LEARN...or I blame it on NOBODY WANTS TO TEACH ME!!!

But in plain fact, I'm just TOO LAZY TO LEARN and TOO LAZY TO ASK SOMEBODY TO TEACH ME... :P

So welcome to my new looking blog which probably will look like a lot of other ppl's one out there :D. Nevertheless, I'm happy with it. And it ain't gloomy!!! It's just that I like rain and I like the darker colours to it... :P

Seriously, If you knew me, I'm one HAPPY HAPPY person!!! So whatever you do, don't judge the person by its blog... ;) Then again, the picture of my daughter smilling, should be a good contrast to the colours in there :P.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know, just in case you thought that I have gone into some weird form of depression :P. Trust me, I'm still the same old me.

That's it from me, over and out!!!

What is the World becoming these Days? Children are Murdered & Children are Raped :( What has become of our Society????

Though I have yet to mention anything about Tifanny Wong's murder case, it was indeed a shocking news for all of us here in Miri. She was only 17 years old. Then there was the murder of a 20 year old girl a few days later, in Miri as well. Then in the news there was the case of a 4 year old who was raped by a kindy owner....I mean seriously....what are these ppl thinking???

It freaks me out as a young mom (as I like to think I am still young...:)) to think about bringing up my daughter in this world or my son (in my tummy) for that matter.

The truth of the matter is that, no matter what you do and how much you try to protect your children, sometimes there is just nothing you can do to keep them safe. If we are over protective, I'll children will probably grow up rebelling against us, but if we give them too much freedom, then they might get influence by the wrong group of friends and then rebel against us as well....so either way, nothing seems right.

So how do we give the right amount of love without being over protective and without giving too much freedom???

That is still a mystery to me. What am I going to do? I'm still clueless...but for one thing I'm sure of at this point of time is to make sure that my children grows up knowing who God is....and I think in some cases I just need to put my faith and trust in the Lord to take care of them. Honestly, I think religion plays a very important role in our children's life. I don't think I need to elaborate further on this....as I'm sure you all would understand where I am coming from.

If everybody was brought up with religion as their foundation, I have a feeling this world would be a much safer and better place to live in.

Don't you think so???

Anyway, to close this blog out, here's a beautiful Christian Prayer I found, which we could use pray in our daily lives for our children. It is titled:

"Protection for My Children"

Father God, I lift up my children before You.
I ask You to watch over them.
Hide them under the shadow of your wings.
Protect them from the evil in this world.
Let no harm come to their spirit, souls, or bodies.

Lord I thank You that Your angels go with and before my children.
Thank You for protecting them and keeping them safe from danger,
disease, and harm of every kind.
Let no evil befall them, let no plague come near them.
I thank You, Lord, that my children are safe in the shelter of Your arms.

Protect my children from injury of any kind.
I pray that they would be sensitive to Your Spirit
and that you would direct their steps.
Give my children courage to say no to friends
and activities that would put them in danger.

I thank You, Lord, that You protect them from spiritual,
mental, physical, and emotional abuse from others.
You protect them from the enemy's evil plans to bring them harm
because Your word says that the evil one touches them not
and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

I thank You, Lord that water shall not overtake them
and fire shall not consume them.
Wherever they go and whatever they do, You protect them, Lord.
In Jesus' name I proclaim it.

Amen.

I told you!!! NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE for GOD!!! ;)

Sorry for MIA-ing....(if that is ever a word) :P Well, a lot of things have happen in my life since the last time I wrote (noted it was April last year :P). After the surgery to fix my tube, I was extremely busy with work hence I didn't have time to blog. Was way to tired to do anything by the time I got back from work.

Anyway, to update you on what happen after the surgery in April last year, I somehow manage to get pregnant in June, but I miscarried at 5 weeks...was very sadden by the experience and cried my eyes out (which by now you should know I always do when I'm sad...haha...but its a once off thing, where I cry and cry and cry for that time, and then I get over it and move on with my life again ;) Honestly, its good for the soul to cry!!! :D). And due to that, I had to go in for another minor laparoscopic surgery, cause Dr.Mattu couldn't see the baby anywhere, so he was worried that it could be another ectopic pregnancy. By this time, it was the 5th time, I was going into the operating theater and going under general anesthetic.....nothing new I must say.

The only problem is that I seem to be getting more and more forgetful these days...hahaha....I swear its not old age!!! After the surgery (which was two hours) he said the tube was fine and it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy, therefore it was a miscarriage...so that was Good News in a way cause that meant I could get pregnant after fixing my one and only tube!!! And that means that my surgery in April was a success!!! WOOHOO!!!

So, after that I decided not to think about getting pregnant anymore, and buried myself in work and church activities to forget the whole ordeal (did however get a priest to offer a mass for my little unborn angel). Kept myself pretty busy all the way till November. And by December, was pretty much glad that work and church activities had slowed down tremendously, cause I was seriously worked out. Took a whole 2 week break for Christmas which was nice!!! And somewhere in between the 2 weeks of my break, I found out I was PREGNANT!!!! WOOOOHOOO!!! and another WOOHOOOOO!!! Who would have guessed I would be so blessed so fast!!! The best part was that when I went to see the doctor, I was already 7 weeks into my pregnancy and I could here the little angels heartbeat!!! That was way too cool!!!! I didn't know whether I wanted to cry or to jump for joy or to smile like kambing!!! My hubby and my daughter were also smiling from ear to ear....hahaha....that was like the happiest moment of my life!!! From being in the saddest moment of my life when the doctor told me I could never get pregnant again after my ectopic pregnancy in 2008, and now to the happiest moment of my life that I could actually get pregnant....is such an unbelievable feeling!!!! BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER I must say!!!

Now I sure am glad that I decided to spend so much money (a lot I tell you!!! for me a lot lah, maybe to some of you that is just peanuts....but for me, it sure did burn a hole in my pocket...hahaha....but it was worth every penny!!!!) to go for that surgery!!! No regrets whatsoever!!! Dr. Mattu is definitely an Angel sent from heaven!!! Anyway, after listening to my little angel's Heartbeat, Dr.Mattu said that this is indeed a miracle baby!!! And I sure do believe this baby is!!! He even prayed with me after the scanning, which was wonderful :D.

So as you can see....I'm still the happiest person alive!!! I'm 5 months preggy now and wish time would fly by faster so I get to smell the little sweetheart in my arms ;) Of course I think I have somehow manage to forget what it is like to have a new born baby around hence my excitement. Lets see how I feel when the baby finally comes out....hahaha.

And before I end, my advice to all mom's who can't seem to get pregnant after years and years of trying is, please go see a gynaecologist, or even better still, if you are in Miri, please go see Dr.Mattu!!! If you're tubes are block, there is always a chance that you could unblock it, even in MIRI!!! It maybe a bit costly (well that could be an understatement) or pretty costly I might say, but it was sure worth my money!!! Having a baby in your arms or in your tummy like mine for now is seriously PRICELESS!!!

And like I said before, "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD!!!" ;)

And that's it from me!!!

TA for now!!!

Why does this always happen??? Why ah???

Hey peeps....sorry haven't written for awhile. Been very busy with work and I think after the my surgery, I seem to get tired very easily. Plus the fact that my period went bonkers this month after the surgery. I thought I was bleeding to death...hahaha...yes yes I'm over exaggerating ...but it was a lot!!!

Sorry for being so informative....hahaha....anyway, I had to change my pad every two to tree hours for the first 3 days. I got so worried that by the 3rd day I called my Doc's office but he wasn't in. So I got the lady nurse working there to get him to call me back the next morning. However, the next morning when I got the call from his office, my bleeding had subsided. WHY AH? Why always like that ah??? When you finally call the doc and get through to him, it always so happen that everything is ok already.

Another example of this that happen the same week as the above was when I called the Astro installation person because I could only see the blank screen for all my astro channel the morning after the thunder storm. I looked high and low for an astro installation guy's number, which I finally found. So I told him to drop by during lunch to check what's wrong with my astro. He did drop by and guess what??? MY ASTRO WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE!!! And the worst part was, I still had to pay him for just switching off and on my astro.....AHHHHHH!!! Why does that always happen??? It so "MURPHY'S LAW"!!!

Anyway, besides that nothing else happen. Am trying to get pregnant now and hopefully I get lucky this first time round ;) I will be the happiest person in this planet earth if that really did happen....:D Wish me all the best!!!

By the way, have I ever introduced to you my 3 beautiful dogs??? Well, here they are....TA-DA!!!

This is Princess Pink Paw...the climbing puppy I mentioned about a few blogs ago. She's a bit bigger now so she can't climb anymore... :P We adopted her from my mom's friend who travels a lot so couldn't take care of her....

And here is Fluffy with her head out of the gate, my mom picked her up from the shoplot behind out house. The one next to her is Lulu our white albino dog :D, whose mom was our dog but died off mouse poisoning when we were trying to kill of the mouse in our house...so sad kan??? That's why we don't use that anymore....:( They are all local dogs but they are very much loved by us. Cute or not???

Alright...that's it for now. TA!!!

Resting at home is so BORING!!!

Still resting at home and getting bored cause I'm unable to do anything. All I do is watch tv and sleep...and can you imagine that the doctor gave me two weeks medical leave!!! What am I going to do peram at home!!!

Ahhhhhhhh...I'll go crazy!!! Hahaha...anyway, I don't care, I'm going back to work on Monday. I work in an office and I sit all day anyway so there is no harm I can do to myself...true or not? At least then I'll be productive finishing up my work then staying at home :D

Last night hubby was so funny, I was sleeping on my right side and he said "Can sleep like that kah?" and I said "Can, why? You think my insides will all fall to the right is it?" and he said "Yah!" and I started laughing and he started laughing too....hahaha...so funny him. I can't blame him if he thinks the inside of me is so fragile after the operation. I was worried too at first but then I couldn't sleep straight all the time. My bum keeps getting numb...so screw it, hahaha...I slept which ever direction I wanted to. I'm still ok today so that means nothing fell apart inside...phew... :D

Oklah..that's it from me...back to trying to rest....or facebooking...haha....

Ta for now!!!

Surgery a success, I may say...and I'm Still ALIVE!!!

First of all, Thank You Lord for keeping me alive!!! :D You're the best!!!

Ok, now to my actually topic, I'm finally out of Columbia Asia and recovering at home...so much for wanting to be discharge on the same day...unfortunately Dr.Mattu didn't agree with that....hahhaha...and I suppose he knows best :D.

Anyway, the good news is that he has manage to unblock one of my tubes, the left one that was clubbed. But he also did say that due to it being clubbed, the tube had some damages and he did what he could. He did also mention that if I do miss my period, to make sure to check with him immediately just in case it might be another ectopic pregnancy again and he can try and save my tube again. So its good to go for now!!! My factory is now open again for production :P. Let's pray that a little angel comes along in the next few months and I'll be the happiest person alive and I think my daughter would be very excited as well....cause she has been asking for a brother and sister for so long already :D.

So fingers cross and lots and lots of prayers from now on :). Even though the percentage of getting pregnant is still low...but its still a way higher percentage than it previously was....so am happy nevertheless. And like I said previously, if nothing happens then at least I can say I tried rather then regretting for not doing it :D

Thanks again for all the prayers...and stay tune...

"Nothing is impossible for God!!!"

Going for Laparoscopic Surgery in 2 Days Time...and Hoping for the BEST!!!

Last week I decided that I might as well get my fallopian tubes fixed, so I met up with Dr.Mattu last Monday to arrange a schedule to do so.

So my laparoscopic surgery to fix my tubes will be done this Thursday. Please do pray for me so that it would be a success and I will be able to conceive again and get the miracle baby that I have been longing for :D. Well, if it isn't successful and I don't get pregnant, well at least I can said I tried, rather than not doing anything about it and regretting in the future...true kan??? So whatever it is, I'm all go for the surgery and will be optimistic about it!!! After that, I'll leave it up all to God and his plans for me :D.

For those of you who have not followed me previously, I'll give you a quick update on the reason for the surgery. In Dec 2008 I had an ectopic pregnancy. Lost the baby (obviously) and my right tube burst. Therefore it had to be stitched up. So one tube down. Then apparently the doctor found out that my left tube was clubbed....and that meant, I have two tubes down....doctor said chances of getting pregnant is very very low (my translation for that is, its close to nothing...probably like 0.1% chance). Despite what she said, I've been trying to get pregnant for the last year....and obviously not successful. Therefore my decision for the surgery :D. Can't do IVF cause its against the Catholic church...so fingers cross!!! Woohoo!!! So that's the story!

Anyway, I'm hoping to check-into Columbia Asia in the afternoon and Check-out in the evening on the same day :). That way I get to go home and sleep on my 'ever so comfortable bed' instead of the 'ever so hard bed' in Columbia...:P.

I can't wait for it to be over!!! Will let you know how it turns out on Friday and what the doctor says :D.

That's it from me for today.....over and out!!!
