I BROKE MY NOSE!!! WOOHOO!!! :P

This is how my nose should look like....do't have a picture with my new nose now cause the camera's battery is flat....will put it up tomorrow....I think my nose still looks the same but my hubby says it looks bigger now...'That's just great!!!"...hahaha...

This is how I looked like after the surgery and my nose back in place. I have pictures when I was at Columbia in the emergency room but I have yet to get it from my friend En. Will post it up once I get it :P Sayang I forgot to take a picture of my nose when it was still broken...wanted to but forgot....hiyah! Signs of old age :P

I BROKE MY NOSE!!! WOOHOO!!! Isn't my life just so exciting!!! Hahahaha....sad case lah.....so much for having a sharp nose....not that sharp lah...but sharp enough :P. And that's the reason why I've been MIA for awhile :D. Wanted to blog about my 10km run but was waiting for my sister to upload her pictures in facebook, which she has yet to do!!! Jess!!! What's taking so long!!! :P

Anyway, in the process of waiting from Monday to Tuesday, I broke my nose on TUESDAY during the netball practice!!! In actual fact...at work on that Tuesday, i told my colleague that I felt like taking leave on Wednesday, just to relax at home. Who would have guessed that I would have broken my nose that evening and would be given 4 days medical leave!!! Hahaha...bahaya also to say you want to take leave :P

But then again, who would expect netball to be such a rough game...go figure!!! I guess I was just jumping at the wrong place at the wrong time...plus the fact that I'm short and have a sharp nose, like I said, not that sharp lah...but sharp enough for it to get in the way of an elbow!!!

Well, it all happen when we were practicing with the SKO ladies....it was a pretty relaxing game, and somehow during the game I went jumping for the ball...and this other lady who is much taller than me, went for the ball at the same time...unfortunately for me, I was behind her so as I landed, she landed as well and her elbow when smack straight into my nose...and all I heard at that time was 'KREECCKK'. And I was like, 'Oh SHIT' (in my head lah) and I immediately pressed my nose with my fingers....not exactly knowing what to expect. It didn't hurt...surprisingly!!! Anyway, after pressing my nose and looking down at my hands, I was BLEEDING!!! LIKE A LOT!!! But again, surprisingly I was quite calm. All my lovely netballer friends were all so worried....and thank goodness there were some first aiders there :D. They asked me whether I broke my nose or not...so after a bit of a feel with my fingers, it was confirm that it was broken....the bridge of my nose had moved to the left side of my nose and my right side of my nose went in.....how COOL WAS THAT!!! It sure as hell FREAKED ME OUT!!! Hahahaha...but somehow I still manage to keep my cool....I was positive the doctors in Columbia would fix it.

Anyway, after awhile of pressing my nose and facing down I started to feel dizzy and my ears were buzzing and all I wanted to do was to lie down....hehehe....but of course they wouldn't let me lie down. Instead they happily carried me to the car....of course after that some nice guy decided to help them out and took over to carry me. Thanks to whoever you are!!! I seriously got to get your name...and I doubt you'll be reading this too....but thanks anyway :D.

After that my dear Farah (accompanied by En) drove me to Columbia Asia. Farah did a good job in getting me safely there and we all had out seat belts on despite the emergency :P. So we were very HSE compliant :P. Thanks Farah and En!!!

When we reached there I was wheeled into the emergency room. And while I was there, I realise my bib was still on...hahaha....malu eh!!! We manage to take it out somewhere during the time when I got an ice block from the nurse to put on my nose. We then waited for the X-ray guy to come, and despite me telling Farah and En to go home then insisted to stick around..SEE!!! I have such beautiful friends...LUCKY ME!!! :P And after waiting for quite awhile the X-ray guy finally arrived....so I got my nose X-rayed and it was then officially declared BROKEN!!! Hahaha....how exciting!!! (Oh yah, did I mention that Syl came by to see whether I'm ok too...thanks babe!!!) By then the bleeding had already stopped. So, I just had to wait for the doctor to say whether I needed to go into surgery or not. Took awhile before the doctor finally came back cause she went for dinner.....and she called the ENT specialist. I was then told that my nose wasn't an emergency case cause it had stopped bleeding. My next reaction to the doctor was 'What??? it's not an emergency case??? My nose is broken and its not an emergency case???' and she said 'No, cause its a soft bone'...and in my head I was like 'Ohhhh......maybe soft bone isn't all that serious....no wonder not so painful also'...well, what she said made sense to me anyway....and she said whether I wanted to be admitted and I said 'No' since it wasn't an emergency case. So I went home lah....and YES!!! WITH A BROKEN NOSE!!!

When I got home I continued to put ice on my nose and finally I had a chance to look at my nose....and it didn't look all that bad lah....despite my nose being senget and I look a bit weird...it didn't look all that bad. But of course I wanted it back in its original position lah...:P I don't want to look cacat for the rest of my life....haha..I still want to be a bit pretty bah....with my senget nose I look a bit like the 'Beast' in Beauty and the Beast :P

Oh yah....my daughter and my hubby did come by Columbia to see how I was and my daughter was so scared to come close to me....she was so traumatise by the fact that I couldn't give her our usual night "Eskimo Kiss", where we rub noses together :). Poor girl.... Anyway, when I got home, my daughter just couldn't stop asking me questions about my nose...she went on and on and on and then repeated the question again as if I didn't give her an answer the first time round....wah!!! can be very irritating when you are in that situation!!!

The next day...I went in to the clinic at 8.30am without having any breakfast whatsoever as I knew I would most probably need to go for surgery and that means I need to not eat for more than 8 hours I think or is that 6??? Admitted myself into Columbia and I went in for surgery at 11am. The people in the Operating Theater was like "You again??? macam regular customer saja you"...and I was like "Hahaha....I don't see you all in town bah...and I miss you all, so I come back in here to see you all again lah..hahaha". Well, that was supposely suppose to be funny lah...and they did laugh as well. Even the anaesthetion knew who I was....sad case lah....I should get some kind of special discount for using the place so often :P. If you follow my blog you would have recalled me going for a surgery in Dec for my ectopic pregnancy. Anyway, the anaesthetision said "You know what to expect hoh" and I said "Yups"....what's new in my life these days anyway :P. In a short span of time, I have already been through 4 surgery under General Anesthetic....sad or not??? This round was my 5th time :P

I even have a friend who works in the Operating theater and he even sempat show me a picture of his wife and his two beautiful children...hahaha...while I was waiting for the doctor to come....:P That's the wonders of being in Miri.....almost everybody also you know :D.

I came out of the Operating Theater around 12.30noon. Doctor told me that it only took him like 5 minutes to push the bone back in place....but I think I was under Anaesthetic for a longer period of time. I checked out of Columbia at 4pm...and during that time a few of my friends came to visit...again I have to say I'm so blessed to have such beautiful friends :D

Today when he took out the bandage he told me that my nose looks good and straight and that he didn't do any damage to it. And then he explain to me that he basically used a tool (which I'm assuming would look something like a plyer) and use brute force to push the bone back into place....eeeeeeewwwwwww...............sounds disgusting....well, I'm glad its all over now and my nose looks like it was before....and like I said before it surprisingly didn't hurt!!!

Hey! I just realised....I didn't get back the X-ray of my nose!!! The doc said he will get it for me...but I think he must have forgotten about it too....sigh...maybe I should check with Columbia later on whether they still have my X-ray....would be a great souvenir for me to keep...hahaha....its not everyday that someone breaks a nose....kan???

And while I had the bandage on my nose....I so had the urge to where a sign that says "I broke my nose!!! I didn't go through plastic surgery!!!" cause everywhere I go people just stared!!! Only people I know would ask and I would have to explain myself...haha....over and over again :P. And my daughter was very cute as well, this is what she said to me "Mummy cannot send me to class...hehehe....cause afterwards my teacher laugh at you....hahahaha...mummy nose broken, hahaha". Well, at least she thought it was funny :P

This was given to me by the SKO ladies....you ladies are so sweet. You all didn't have too but thank you so much!!! My daughter loves it!!!
